One of our mandates is public engagement and education. We have conducted over 50 sessions with youth through visits to schools all over the Island and parts of Labrador.
We have created 3 educational kits comprising sets of replica uniforms, helmets, gas masks and daily tools a soldier would use from the Commonwealth, French/Belgian and German Armies.
These kits are shared to groups who would like to use them. We also cover the shipping costs. Each kit comes with a book describing the contents & slide shows and scripts based on the ages of the audience.
In 2022, we hosted an essay contest and took the winner, a 13 year old from Trepassey and her older sister, to the dedication of the Caribou in Gallipoli. We conduct public talks on various topics.
We engage in heritage fairs and at times sponsor them. We assist in hundreds of requests for information from all around the world. We have been able to link up French immersion classes in Newfoundland and Labrador with similar aged schools in towns with Caribous of the Trail of the Caribou.
